One To Buy?

Buying
a sedan at about 150K has never been harder with the
launch of the new Camry and Accord last year in
Malaysia. It has always been a natural choice for young
high flying middle income earner to get a more dynamic
looking Accord while a more mature high flying manager
to get a Camry. However with the launch of the new
accord and Camry this natural rule of selection becomes
blur.....

Accord....

Or Camry? This is sure
one darn hard decision to make.
Personally at Luk4all we have to say GOOD JOB to
Toyota for the latest Camry model. The model would have
certainly bring all the Accord fans to the fence,
scratching their head to decide which side they are on
now. Anyway we have found a review online with a
comparison of the latest accord and Camry model. Enjoy
reading.....
Utility
Neither the Honda Accord nor the Toyota Camry has a
marked advantage as far as seating capacity.
Convenience
You'll very likely have to take the Accord for a fill-up
more often than the Toyota because of its tank size and
gas mileage.
Comfort
Taller drivers will quite a bit enjoy the extra head
room in the Honda Accord's front cabin compared to the
Toyota Camry. The Toyota Camry is not particularly more
spacious for your passengers than the Honda Accord.
Dimensions
The Honda Accord is a bit heavier than the Toyota. The
Honda Accord's tank is about the same size as the
Toyota's, though the Camry's is somewhat larger. The
Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord compete for the same
parking spaces.
Performance
The Toyota Camry is likely to feel a tad sluggish
because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio. With
respect to horsepower, the Honda Accord packs quite a
punch and will knock the Toyota Camry down a few rungs.
On the flip side, note that high horsepower engines
often command higher insurance premiums.
Handling
The Toyota and the Honda Accord have about comparable
tires. With their similar turning radiuses, the Honda
Accord and the Toyota Camry doubtless handle roughly the
same into and out of tight spots.
Drive Train
The Toyota's engine is significantly smaller than the
Honda Accord's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be
stressed more; however, smaller engines typically get
better gas mileage. Torque is roughly equivalent to
acceleration, and in this respect, the Honda Accord is
significantly more powerful than the Toyota Camry.
Torque equals pickup, and the Honda Accord will have
picked up and gone by the time the Camry finally gets
moving.
So armed with the above information and your own
personal information, please share with us which is your
favorite now. We at luk4all.com wonders
when we can have people scratching their head thing
either to get a Accord,
Camry or PERDANA :-).
Comments:
Definitely Camry. It has the elegant and stylish built into it. Accord looks more like an "uncle" car, putting side by side with Camry.

the new accord has lost its x-factor. The rear make over is definetely a WRONG WRONG choice.

I drove a Accord 2.4 A the not made over version....if ask me to decide now.....really hard. As the camry really have the look that kiil.

My vote definitely goes to the new Camry, even though i do own an Accord 2.4 (sad to say). But in term of interior and space design, i still very much like Accord though. I think it is wrong for Toyotan to say that Accord looks "uncle", that would depends on who/how a person drives it. At the price tag of >RM100K, not all youngsters (like me) could afford to drive it. If you setup Accord with a full bodykit and 21 inch wheels, it will really looks different, ~hip, stylish and "youngster" feel.

the previous camry model is defietely an old man's car. But this latest model is a screamer....

For me, I think they still carry the same which means young guys still look for Accord while the mature guys will still look for Camry... From the side view of both cars, Accord looks more dynamic while Camry looks more matured...This will make businessman will look for Camry...Since i am young guy, i still prefer Accord with its front stylist looks....but too bad the back view of Accord doesn't look as good as Camry....and Camry front view doesn't look as good as Accord... In my opinion, I think Camry is more on luxury car that usually has own driver but too bad, if the person has budget to hire driver, i think they should buy BMW.... Accord is more young looks with more powerful car.
One of the disadvantages of Honda compared to Toyota is the young guys usually don't have much money to afford Accord or Camry but if they do, they will have rather look for sport cars such as doors...Other disadvantage is the launch of Civic 2.0 which actually attract more people to buy Civic 2.0 instead of Accord 2.0....Since the Accord is minor model change from previous version and Camry is totally new Camry...More people will buy Camry instead.... But I predict that Accord will launch a totally new model of Accord later (maybe 2008) with more matured look since Civic has been upgrade to 1.8 and 2.0 to attract more youngster to buy it...

ditto that. Accord/Camry range is for the more mature. Youngster would either go for a Civic 2.0L or if they have the extra cash they would have opt for a BMW 3 series which looks very good
