Election & Dysfunctional Parties

By Luk4all Editor

Posted 13th February 2008

We at Luk4all.com.my would like to wish all our readers, business partners, supporter and of course all Malaysian a Happy, Prosperous and most importantly Healthy CNY. We are back after the long break and promise you more mind tingling and exciting blogs ahead in the year of the Rats.

So election is just around the corners, we are very sure most of us have already in our mind which parties we are supporting. Just remember nothing come easy, changes will come with a price. And that is the price we will have to pay if we want a change and different future for our children in Malaysia.

Have you guys read the article by The Star editor? You can find it here. I totally agree with him, how our politician has suddenly becomes our best friends, irrelative of race, religion and languages. How I wish we will have election every year, then all our vernacular schools will be properly funded, or how our Minister suddenly realized the important of mandarin language, you can read it here and here.

How I wish we will have election every year, then all Penang traffic woes will be solved. Penang (road + bridge) traffic’s planning is the worst, the roads are jammed up everyday, and especially worst during the holidays. Maybe in a few years time it would not be so jammed up as most of the tourist would already be smart enough to avoid the congested island. Maybe it is not about planning, we have knew it coming all along, the money is just not coming for all the wonderful plans we have. Anyway we/Penanite should be thankful to the government that the monorail will be kick off in 2004 (WHAT?) and completed in 2007, you can read it here, or early this year, and now end of 2008, here. However now my crystal ball and year of the rat feng shui tells me work will start prior to the next election in 2012. Sigh…. if only we have election every year J.

So this election I am thinking of voting for Alternative Front…. Or what Alternative Front? You mean dysfunctional Alternative Front. Until today I am still reading in the internet news portal that the Alternative Front (I am not going to refer them as opposition parties) are still squabbling over seats allocations and threats being made about 3 way fight. To me it is both disappointment and a joke to see them squabbling. It’s a joke because even a 1-1 fight between the alternative front and national front, will be a paramount challenge for the alternative front to win, and  I can tell them in the face right now they are not going to be win enough seats to form the next government or even winning 2/3 of seats is already a big challenge, so what is the point of squabbling. It’s a disappointment because if you cannot even come to an agreement about seat allocation, even if they win > 50% of the parliament seats, I have no confident in them in forming the next government. But nevertheless this year my vote will be for the opposition, I am going to call it protest vote against all the National Fronts jokers in the cabinet, parliament and state.

P.S Thanks to Tsu Koon for finally making the decision to move to Parliament, you have cause enough traffic woes in Penang. Our bet is Ah Chye will replace Tsu Koon.

i have a dream too, that all our politicians can be as smart, professional, factual as my fellow American politicians. What we have in Malaysia are those "jaguh kampung" politicians who are a better 'gangster' (sometimes) than a man of intelectual.

So sad.

Now is the right moment for all Malaysians to vote for a new goverment which we hopefully hope will lead our beloved country into the next future.
We have given the chance for the Barisan to govern this country for the past fifty years but she has disappointed the Ra'yat with the present terrible crimes, corruptions, the rising food prices which we suffered daily .
Malaysians irrespective of race ,religions should give the Barisan Alternative an opportunity to show ,lead and govern our beloved country into the bright future. If they cannot promised what they pleaded , then we will pull them down again.
Cintai-lah negara kita .

As the election is coming soon, let's look back at what the Barisan goverment has done to our Malaysia under Pak Lah's regime.
The country fell into various problems after Tun Dr, Mahatir passed over the helm to PakLah .There are various types of terrible crimes, more snatch thives on the Malaysian streets ,rapes on the female Malaysians, serious corrouptions from the Barisan jokers both in the state and parliament and from the police force ,serious unemployment rate among the graduates and the most worst part of it is that many of the locals' ricebowls were snatched away by the foreigners ! Does the Barisan really bother about the wellfare of the Ra'ayat ? Do we need this type of goverment who promised every things but come to nothing in the end !
We must judge carefully with our precious VOTES in choosing a new goverment ! Let's provide the Barisan Alternative a chance to proof herself in the next five years ! We had ENOUGH from the Barisan over the part fifty years. Let's us not be fool again by their empty promises or our children will suffer in the future !!!
MALAYSIANS MESTI BOLIH .

What a lousy ,corrupted, good for nothing prime minister we Malaysians is having.Malaysia has become from a living paradise into a crime prone land under his stupid rule.
He should step down immediately before he is forced to be kick out from the party ! Even our former beloved Tun Dr.Mahathir also insisted that he should step down as head of the Barisan .

2/15/2008 8:03:13 AM | mat

Wake up, fellow Malaysians. The Barisan has promised us everything since the last election but it have brought all types of miseries to the Ra'yat.
Look at the serious and horrible crimes that are happening everyday in the country with all the FOREIGNERS around us. Ragut ,snatch theives ,robberies ,inefficient police force, murder cases ,the huge unemployment rates, corruptions from the Barisan JOKERS who are holding power in the state, paliament and cabinet. the ever increasing prices of all daily necessities and the planned price increase of PETROL after the election !
So felow Malaysians. think carefully before voting, do we still need such an inefficient Barisan National or we we need a WIND OF CHANGE through the BARISAN ALTERNATIVE ?
Anyway ,myself and my groups will choose the BARISAN ALTERNATIVE !!!

' IS PAK DOLLAH CHEATING THE MALAYSIANS ?
Feb 14, 08 10:52am
He will regret and pay for this lie about dissolving Parliament. He could have easily said, ‘I will think about it when the right time comes’ or even as simple ‘No comment’.

On PM dissolves Parliament

Sheikh Rizal Housein: Is the PM taking Malaysians for a ride? Does he think we Malaysians are real dumb? The whole world knew he was going to dissolve the Parliament yesterday. However, on Feb 12, when the media interviewed him, he dismissed it and even had the nerve to say that Parliament won’t be dissolved the next day.

Even the Press headlines said Parliament wouldn’t be dissolved on Feb 13. And then, yesterday, Feb 13, he dissolved Parliament. What does he think we Malaysians are, dumb fools? Well, the joke is on him. He will regret and pay for this lie.

He could had easily said, ‘I will think about it when the right time comes’ or even as simple ‘No comment’. Now, in the eyes of all Malaysians, the PM is the biggest liar in Malaysia.

Charity Lee: Day before yesterday, the PM said Parliament wouldn't be dissolved yesterday (the date of his favourite/lucky number, 13). But yesterday, he said Parliament is dissolved. Didn't Pak Lah just lie to our faces?

In retrospect, what have BN had achieved over the past 4 years ? What do we see down the road of the next 5 years ? Did they have the clear vision ?

We have been largely rely on oil to sustain the economy, another 5 years the oil will be depleted, what should we do then ? The ministers are very busy over their interest (self-interest), everyone talk like a HERO (sweet talk), but no action !

When Pak Lah announced the economy zone in north, south and east, do we have the fund to grow and sustain them? Do we think it will succeed to attract foreign investors? Will it be landed just like the MSC project, finally becomes white elephant? The social problem is still unresolved, the government keep saying we have not enough police, but our population to police headcount ratio is far higher than many countries, have they really look into the efficiency instead of quantity ? The situation just like a factory supposedly should operates with 1,000 operators, due to poor management we need to hire 2,000 operators to operates. Another example is PLUS expressway, the traffic is getting worst and worst nowaday especially during seasonal holiday, the gorvenment did not really look into the problems and find ways to resolve it, instead, they recommend those non-chinese to avoid rushing on the same period as chinese. Does this makes sense ??? When I was in China, their expressway has implemented the following measures to reduce the long queue at toll plaza :

1. If more than 10 cars Q up, they will let go 5 cars without collecting toll fee.

2. Some locations that prone to have long Q, they will split the toll plaza at different locations instead of both build together. The split of location allows more tolls point to be erected to ease high congestions. Which means the other direction toll plaza will be build 1km away.

Did they realized how much of petrol was burnt over the long Q in every seasonal holiday ? This is called WASTE !

In summary, I am definitely give a thumbs down to this government, I have yet seeing any leadership over the past 5 years, they are not a visionary too. I am sure u know who to cast your vote, right ?

Our government is full of corrupted leaders, even a 5 year old kid can tell you that. Having said that, most of the time i'm confused why these people are not being taken action by our own PM (well, he's the one that kept screaming to eliminated corruption).

Sigh.... lets vote for the alternative front. At least we still have hope for a new government, vision..and hopefully a new malaysia.

When Bank Bumiputra loss billions of dollars for 2 repeated times, what was happened ? Anyone get caught and charge ? What happen to the Berwaja case now ? All these moneys are from tax payers like all of us. Of course on top of it, the source of money to fund all these losses are from the oil production. What will happen 5 years later when Petronas stops operations ?Where and who will continue to feed those fiasco ?

When we say China government is very corrupted, but their government is taking stern action to punish those governors who involved corruptions. Do we know many high ranking officials were hanged and punished after found coruption in China? We are not even seeing anyone was charge to the court in Malaysia ! Who is more corrupted ?

Brethern, make sure you fly back from Oregon to cast your vote !

We will wait and see .... Callum

Sadly, dont think i can, just came back again to OR from CNY holiday back home :(

Been waiting for election and even registered it late last year, in hope of getting to vote, darn it.

Well Callum, you coming back from China to vote? :)

PS: Been following the presidential election in the states, would really hope one day our election would be just like them, where they would debate openly and maturely with telecast live to all. That's the only way we can judge who is a better leader/PM. Nowadays, what we see is all the good points in the local paper, and all the racist rethoric by the ministers can only find it's way in the internet blog. Only then we all can see how many faces our ministers have... and how stupid most of them are, uneducated, hooligans and would be a laughing stock to the world.

This is a challenge that definitely none of our beloved minister would ever dare to take. By the way, i do have to give my hats to MCA for setting an example of leader only can be president of 3 terms max. I would love to see the same concept being adopted by UMNO and MIC.

2/20/2008 1:42:42 PM | brethern

Hey Brethern, Yes, of course I will be back to cast my vote, though I was just back during CNY. This is a challenging year for BN, the come back of Annuar, Hooligan MIC chief has recently lost the confident and support from Indian community. DAP is aiming highly over Penang. As u can see, Penang is now becomes the hottest area and central focal point to all parties nowaday. So, why Tan Sri Koh has planned to step down as Chief Minister to shift to cabinet ? Let me tell u, he is chicken out, he knew well that he will loss in the election. Now, he is trying to find safe shelter place to anchor. Pak Lah will find a place for him then.

So, hooligan MIC chief has finally loss the influence from Indian community. This brings the awareness in the India society which they could have awake for a long time. Honestly, what has he did and contribute to the Indian society ? The Indian community has raising alarm over their poverty, over their survivals, nobody has ever care about them. This is the fact, it is time for a change.

To be honest, I never trust to vote in embassy, there is always an integrity concerns, so I decided to spend this money to come back !!

Well, let's see how it goes.

Cheerio...KL...Callum

Tottally agree with wata. We have given the chance for the BN to govern this country for the past fifty years but she has disappointed us. Why not we give 5 years to other. we can waste fifty years for disappontment. why not use 5 years or more to see if others can do better. i suppose at least Alternative Front will better than those think and talk without using thier brain in Parlimen or Public.

One of my friend who is currently working in Europe went to the nearby Malaysia Embassy to cast his vote. He was told that he is not permitted to vote. Reason ?? The officer told him, only Askar dan Pelajar are allow to vote. WTF ??????????????

True enough, in today's newspaper in Malaysia, one of the lady who is working in Switzerland was reported the same case.

So, what is the rationale behind why we, the true Malaysians, are not allow to cast their vote at Malaysia Embassy ???

There is no reason given, it is an instruction, don't ask me so much....this is the kind of reply from the officer.
