We have done
more research and we are listing down more Fuel
Economy Tips #2++. Maybe you are already aware
many of these but here goes again.
-
Change your
spark plugs as needed.
-
Get you
mechanic to have a look at them when
ever you bring your car oil change.
-
Change air
filter.
-
Make sure all
fluids level are as recommended all the
time.
-
Change your
engine oil as specified by your vehicle
manual.
-
Use the right
grade of oil as specified by your vehicle
manual.
By doing all of the
above you will get your vehicles engine run much
more efficiently, and in turn it means;
-
You will use
less petrol and save some money a year.
-
Your engine will
be cleaner, less wear and tear and again
help you to save some money.
Sometimes the above
could some trivial but in a long run it will
help you to save a lot of money in long run.
For example do you
know that driving with a dirty air filter could
increase your vehicle’s petrol mileage by up to
10%, which means, every RM50 fill up, you are
spending RM5 more? And if you have gone and
change a new filter which cost about RM15 for a
Proton Iswara, well you do the math and tell us
if it is worth it.
As we have read
online, ‘Take care of your car and it’ll take
care of your wallet’.

Very well said. Been adhering to the service schedule on my 7 years old Wira, and thus far, doesn't encounter any issues on the engine (of course, except for the exterior that has fading paint, a little bit of rust here and there). I would any drivers out there to follow these rule of thumb religiously. A few buck can say hundred and even thousand bucks from your pocket.

well all the above are really trivial stuff, but i guess when u add them up they do make a different, it is just quantifying them. anyway the above is more of a reminde, i guess all of us are in the aware of that, maybe not the ladies though :)

In terms to share the editor's view, do check your car tyre preasure to ensure sufficient air all the time. Less air will result higher friction between the tyre and the road surface and as a result need more preasure or power to drive. This will increase the fuel consumption.Hence if the air is enough, the friction between the tyre and the car is lower and will result a smooth drive and save fuel consumption. Secondly avoid using large exhaust funnel. This will burn more fuel and noisy too. Thank you and enjoy a fuel save driving.

Read it some where in the internet that, big exhaust pipe does NOT affect the fuel comsumption. As the combustion happens in the engine, not in the exhaust. It is just a pipe/channel that is used to flow out the gases from the combustion.
Other than that, it has no other purpose.
