Its Confirmed, GM Interested In Proton

Its finally confirmed, General Motors (GM) is in interested in getting a stake in Proton.  You can read some of the news from the international news here. By now there is a total of 5 consortium interested in getting a stake in proton, 3 foreign, France's PSA Peugeot Citroen , Germany's Volkswagon  and USA's GM and 2 locals, DRB Hicom and Naza Ria. Although there are so much bashing of Proton by the "rakyat", lousy car, bad management and so on, we can't help to wonder why there are still so many interested buyer in Proton. We guess there are still some values in it, such as penetration of ASEAN market post AFTA, getting into markets that has signed favorable FTA agreement with Malaysia in regards to automobile, and getting a hand into the Tanjung Malim Proton City. Do share with us if you have any insight of why these international companies are interested in Proton.

We just hope our national leaders will make a strategic decision both for proton and the country, no matter how painful it is. If it is the right and best decision we the "rakyat" will definitely support it.

Man, i really hope this work better for Proton and also to Malaysian benefit. Not forgotten, the power window, door handler..etc "issue" would be resolved once and for all.
