Internet Vigil For Namewee

Back
on
17th
July
we
at
luk4all
started
an
internet
vigil
for
Nat,
you
can
read
it
here,
and
today
we
are
starting
another
internet
vigil
for
Namewee.
We
are
very
sure
every
one
of
you
reading
this
internet
vigil
have
heard
of
Namewee,
if
you
have
not,
he
is a
mass
communication
student,
currently
studying
in
Taiwan,
created
a
re-mix
version
of
our
national
anthem,
Negaraku,
with
addition
rap
from
his
thoughts.
If
you
have
not
heard
it
yet,
you
can
listen
to
it
here.
Personally
we
at
Luk4all
think
the
whole
situation
have
been
blown
out
of
proportion
by
our
dear
politician
who
are
all
gearing
up
for
election.
All
trying
to
show
that
they
are
the
defender
of
Malaysia,
the
national
anthem,
the
"rakyat"
and
its
culture.
I
would
think
our
dear
politician
would
have
more
important
things
to
do,
like
how
to
get
more
FDI,
improve
our
university
ratings,
solve
proton’s
endless
issues,
than
to
give
this
24
years
old
mass
communication
student
so
much
attention.
Does
he
really
deserve
so
much
of
their
important
time?
Maybe
he
does….
since
election
is
just
around
the
corner.
Frankly
speaking
I
have
seen
the
music
video
even
before
it
hit
the
news
at
Youtube,
I
was
smiling
all
the
way,
the
second
thing
that
came
across
my
mind
was,
men….
this
guy
will
get
himself
into
trouble.
And
true
enough,
2
weeks
later
it
hit
the
news.
I
think
other
than
the
non-stop
condemnation
of
Namewee,
our
people
of
authority
should
examine
some
of
the
issues
that
were
pointed
out
in
the
song.
Are
Malaysians
having
the
same
thoughts/problems
as
Namewee
but
only
did
not
pointed
it
out,
are
there
any
truths
in
it?
We
should
stop
sweeping
"masalah"
under
the
carpet
and
pretend
that
the
sky
is
blue.
After
50
years
of
independent
we
should
be
mature
enough
to
openly
debate
and
try
to
solve
some
of
these
issues
maturely.
By
the
way
we
agree
some
of
the
vulgarity
lyrics
should
not
be
in
there.
We
think
maybe
Namewee
should
re-write
the
lyrics
removing
the
inappropriate
words.
Anyway…
let
us
give
this
kid
a
break,
let
us
talk
about
it
maturely,
rather
than
condemning
him,
threatening
his
family,
threatening
to
burn
his
home,
revoke
his
nationality,
etc.
I am
sure
he
loves
Malaysia
as
much
as
any
one
of
us
or
even
more.
He
is
just
using
his
ways
that
is
through
songs
and
rap,
to
get
his
thoughts
through
to
our
people
of
authority
and
"rakyat".
Comments:
i think it's time + wake up call for all Malaysian to really look into the problem of our country. Why condemning a person that might have shared a fact + truth in what's happening? Even though i do dislike the vulgar words used, but i feel there are some truth in the song. Prove me wrong..

My friend has translated the contents of the song to me . I think the Malaysian goverment should consider and improve some of the criticism against her in order to earn the respect of all the races in the country .The goverment cannot just condemed the writer of this song just because he brought out the problems that are happening everyday in this country. Instead we should thank him for his courage in this case .The goverment should solve this problem and not just threatening him !

Yeah... We have right to voice whatever of our opinion but why with our proudly anthem ' Negaruku '. Use the right channel. Hope in future no more rude person like him to avoid our next generation do the same. Be the good citizen.

remember the retired EU diplomat.... when he voiced out that NEP is causing the reduction of FDI and the re-action of our leaders? when can we debate things maturely?? WHEN WHEN WHEN?? Why can't we prove things wrong through court and debates, rather than shouting, condenming and threats? After 50 years.... :(

Issue is overblown. He's just voicing his thoughts, through the channel he knows can reach many.
personally as a malay myself, I think he didn't really touch anything regarding our aqidah. it's the politicians who, as always, make this an issue, and used it to it's maxs potential.
sadly, i thought, when will we, the younger generation of malaysia, will really feel truly united..when this kind of things still be manipulated by the ruling party..
i wonder sometimes, when i watched movies from UK..whether he's a black, an asian..or truly a white man..there's no different at all. they speak the same, they treat themselves the same..nothing racial at all.. what did they have that we didn't?
can you ask yourself the same question?
me..I'm tired of being friends with malay people only.
