New Proton Putra Neo?

We
advise our readers to read this at their own
discretion. The rumor and photo are out that Proton
will introduce their new Putra Neo model soon (see
the photo below). We guess that it is about time
Proton resurrects one of the favorite models among
Malaysian car enthusiasts as it has been quite some
time we last saw the Putra model on the road.

Hoax of not, you be the judge.
Well, a short history on our own Putra. The model
started in 1995 and ended in 2000. However, it made
a comeback briefly between 2004 and 2005 in a
limited units re-launched by Proton. The reason why
it’s favorite among car enthusiasts is because of
the limited unit available, coupled with its stylish
and sporty design that can easily fitted with
customized body kits. This is something that we
don’t see lately on some of the latest models by
Proton.
And back to the reality.
Sometimes it got us
wonder the move taken by Proton of not introducing a
new replacement model of Putra (if this indeed turns
out to be just a rumor), and we believe it can
easily beat the existing Satria Neo heads-on. Until
to this day, we still believe that Putra model is
one of the best from the company.
What do you think?
Note: With the latest earning update of 3
straight quarters
profit loss by Proton, this is really the time that
Proton needs to re-think out of the box (where is
the Lotus technology being utilized on, we wonder)
and re-strategize the vision/mission of the company.
Comments:
Get real...for Proton to come up with a new model takes a thousand years. Bet my life that this is just another rumors. And if it's not, it better be a model that worth the customer money. Please don't give us engine that burst into flames (you know what engine is this) after travelling 500km, or stucked power window...and the list goes on and on.

There will be new model from Proton this year but not Proton Neo....It actually Proton Gen 2 Saloon car. If not mistaken, Proton will launch this new model in the mid of 2007...Take my words seriously as it is true...

If what you say is true, i guess i just have to hold on to my money and wait until mid this year then. With the recent cheap prices on Proton Iswara (~RM26K), i think Proton is trying to deplete the old model to make way for the coming new model. To think again, i bet Iswara is going to be around for the next 10 years :)
By the way "hehehe", care to share where did you get this information?

If all this is true, i can wait for this hot babe to be out on the road. Bet the model will be a hit among youngsters. Well at ~RM100K, i think it's a bit overprice though. I would rather get a Civic (already a well known best car in Asia last year) then on a not-so-sure-quality model from our beloved national company car.

brethern, You are absolutely correct. With this limited edition, and a lot of uncertainties, proton will wind up at no time. Then, will face spare parts problem....trust my words !

Wanna take a guess at what Proton might come up? Stalk the cars on Kesas Highway where the folks at Proton tend to road-test their new models. The Gen.2 Sedan was already seen by quite a number of people on quite a number of days on Kesas. So was the Satria Neo b4 its launch.
