In
a dilemma whether to get a new car or a used car? Don't
worry here at
www.luk4all.com.my we will help you to make the
decision.
It's hard to remember
when there has been a better time to consider a used car
instead of a new one. The record number of new cars sold
by automakers in recent years, fueled largely by
extremely low interest financing and lower tax on CKD,
has created an overabundance of used cars. That gives
the used car shopper a lot of choices in vehicles.
The flooded market also
means depressed prices of used cars - bad news for new
car buyers trading in their old models but good news for
bargain-hunting used car shoppers.
In the end, the decision
to buy new or used boils down to what you can afford and
what you planned to do with the money you have. If
you're on a tight budget, then buying a used car gets
you the most vehicle for the least amount of money.
However for some people,
buying used isn't an option; they want a spanking new
car. They want to select the color and all of the
features that go on it. There's definitely a pride of
ownership and peace of mind in being a vehicle's first
owner (just like the first girlfriend or boyfriend).
The Case Of Buying
USED versus New
Increased choice
What choice are there of
new car? If you were to walk into a Honda showroom. What
you will get is maybe a displayed 2006 Honda City and
that is ALL. What you will also get is a Boucher of 2006
Civic, Accord and CRV. But when you walk into a used car
dealer you get a range of vehicles of all makes, of all
years, or all models. Could be something exotic to a
re-possessed 2 month old Vios. You can feel, touch and
drive the actual car you are buying.
MY VERDICT - used car
Just
like new
When a your newly arrived
car come, oh yes, its cushion chair comes in nicely
wrapped plastic. You have the PLEASURE of being the
first to tear apart the plastic....ahhhh! And you will
most probably cost more environment damage with teh
thrown away plastics, it might just end up in the sea
and some sea turtles will think the plastics are some
sort of jelly fish, swallowed it and get suffocated. Buy
a used car and let some one else get the sea turtle
murderer title. And i so see nerds driving the 3 month
old NEW car and still have the plastic wrap around their
seat. Save yourself from the dilemma of "sakit hati"
(heartache in simple English) to remove the plastic by
getting a car that doesn't come with one, USED CAR.
MY VERDICT - used car
Reduced maintenance
Yeah, used car do need
mode maintenance than new, it might already be time to
change the timing belt, but can get the used car dealer
or the person you are buying the car from to change
everything that is needed to change before handing over
the car. Get a trusted mechanic to inspect the car
before agreeing on the price.
MY VERDICT - new car
Price
Imagine this, a 6 months
old Honda Civic 2.0L selling at RM100K, 20K discount
from the brand new, the seller had to sell the car
because of a failed business. I think this put all
argument to rest. Of course you might say that this kind
of deals don't come everyday. But my advise to you is to
keep an open eye, have an idea of what you want,
constantly on the look out at ww.luk4all.com.my
MY VERDICT - definitely
used car
Warranty coverage
Don't get fool by this.
Think about it... how many times do you have you
actually claim warranty in your life, electronic items
or cars? Things usually get spoilt after their warranty
ended, GET IT? It is designed that way. I would prefer
to used the RM20K saved to install a new in car theater
system.
MY VERDICT - used car
Conclusion,
USED CAR GET 4 TO NEW CAR 1.
Think about it... just remember to keep an open eye and
know what you want. There are ~1 million new car sold
last year... you will never know what you will get with
a huge discount.
