The unthinkable has happen. The opposition has finally denied the ruling party 2/3 majority and most of all the unthinkable happen…… the opposition has captured 5 states….. what opposition… we are now the ruling party of the 5 states. BN is now the OPPOSITION. We sure need to get use to calling who is ruling and who is the opposition in Penang.

As I go to office today after the adrenalin rushed weekend, feeling a little empty, can see people all excited about our new state government, worried if they are able to managed the state, after all they have been in the opposing side all the while, and now they have to do ACTUAL work :). But we think it will turn out ok, well it could not get any worst from what we have now.

The other thing we begin hearing people murmuring is, if the work on Penang Bridge expansion and 2nd link will stop since we no longer being ruled by the same government in the federal. well we have this to say to those who are worried, if the work is stop due to the difference in the state and federal government, we will then change the federal government next general election, making it the same as the current 5 state government!!

So anyway…. We at luk4all suddenly felt very empty and different. We are so used of bashing the ruling party that now we are suddenly with the ruling party, it is just STRANGE.

NAH!!! We just do NOT LIKE that feeling…. We at luk4all.com.my will continue supporting the opposition, we will KEEP THE RULING PARTY at check, whether it is DAP, PKR, PAS or BN. We will continue pointing out deficiency and area of improvement.

So keep coming back to luk4all.com.my for more juicy updates. Next we will be do a post mortem on the so call tsunami.

PS: – to the opposition party in Penang, yes that is you BN, you better start blogging soon.

Congrats and thanks to all the 'rakyat' for voting out our corrupt and arrogant government. For once after 50 years of independence we came out as 1 voice, 1 bangsa Malaysia instead of Malay, Chinese or Indian.

Next is to hope the new state government would be able to clean up the mess that has been left by the BN. Let them initiate the transparency and systematic ways of governing a state, and reduce the overall crime rate that has sky rocketed in the last 4 years.

Be an example to the BN that, they have been doing a bad job all this while.

Congratulations to the Barisan Alternative. You have done a very good jod by denying the Barisan National with a 2/3 majority in the Parliament ! A very big blow to the Barisan National JOKERS both in the state and parliament . With the strong support of 49% of the Ra'yat , hopefully you can out perform the former ruling party.
Do not despair the 49% of Malaysians. Show the BARISAN NATIONAL JOKERS that the Barisan Alternative BOLIH !!!

With the recent landslide victory of the opposition party, the BN members need to re-position their strategy for the next run. The citizen of Malaysia is not just voting those who knows how to "Shout" and "so-called developing individual as "Phalawan" image or "Hero" behaviours. What the citizen is looking for is a clean (C), open(O), transparent (T) government. If we think about it, the C,T,O was once the same propaganda in year 2004 election. So, we must instill such similar propaganda for the current ruling parties such as DAP,PKR,PAS.

When someone raise doubts on DAP whether can they competently take over the government of Penang state, I would say, we must give them sometime to do it. Penang indeed has many brilliant talents, we should give them the confident and trust. If we look back in 1970s, when Lim Chong You (Opposition leader) won the election, he has led Penang to be one of the most developed state in Malaysia. So, do not underestimated the capability of DAP, I am sure they will woe all the brilliant and talented genius from all over the world (Malaysians) to help and develop the state to be one of the most powerful state in the whole Malaysia ! We must make Penang step up beyond of what we have today, moving forward to see some very high-tech such as waferfab, Bio-Tech, IT - center of excellent for the nations, for the regional and for the world !!!!

Believe the opposition would do a great job in governing the new states. After all these years being "bullied" in parliament and being under-estimated by BN/people, they must have put in 110% of effort to prove them wrong. And now, since the people has given them the mandate, i bet PAS/DAP/PKR already been putting in full gear to clean up the mess left behind by BN.

Just a suggestion, maybe they should start to dig up all those contracts...under table money that have been going on in the last 50 years in those states. Sure the rakyat will be very happy if these people that have been cheating on 'rakyat' been put behind bars. It will definitely boost up the 'rakyat' confidence on our opposition parties (or our government in the next GE).

Please allow me to add some more points here, I would just like to share my view with Luk4all readers.

In the past few decades, how many Malays and Non-Malays have been benefited from the mega projects. If u speak to some Malays in Penang, they raise their voice loudly and said, we are equally poor ! Only some cronies are benefited from the mega projects. As we can see, they (refers to BN) has used mega projects to woe supporters and they have been supported for decades. This is how BN structure and cronies being developed. Now, when we talk about "TRANSPARENCY", it refers to open tender to the public, which means the wealth will be fairly distributed to every walks of life and not just confining to the small groups of cronies. If this happen, then this so-called NEW NEP will work ! If a Japanese can becomes Peru President, and a Sikh can becomes the PM of India, I see no reasons why a non-Malay can becomes the PM of Malaysia. As long as this non-Malay PM is treated every race fairly, I see no reason for not !?

I am just looking forward Malaysia will step forward to the true democratic country ! One nation one race (we all called Malaysian) one voice !

Congratulations to 50% of Malaysians who have VOTED out the inefficient ,corrupted, good for nothing B.N.
After 50 years of independent, we can now see most of the ra'ayat are matured and are not be fool by the empty promises given by the B.N which only benefited their cronies. Many Malaysians were denied their rights as citizen through unfair policies created by the B.N.
We are looking forward to the Barisan Alternative to provide us with a fair and just policies in the 5 opposition states. We hope the B A .will be in control of the whole Malaysia in the coming next election.
Hoping the B .A. will bring us a true and fair Malaysia and brighter future for our children.

I personally was really amazed that the people's power has finally emerged and showed everyone who's the boss.Talking about transparency and other "misdeeds" of the BN, someone has to shut the mainstream media's propagation of the winning of opposition and their formation of a new government in several states.
It seems that the media is still under the shadows of BN,and they still are broadcasting the losers and allowing them to reveal their thoughts of destruction and racist remarks that already swallowed their grasp of 5 states in Malaysia.
Their arrogance seems to be unstoppable,as the Penang's UMNO rep. said in an interview on 13 March that all projects of the previos government should be ceased immidiately and should be let to the new elected government to forsee and run their state governance by themselves.
This really shows that some people are there in politics just to "show of" or "make money while you are there". Let us hope that the new politicians are there to deny all these "dirts of politics" and serve the people as they should.
adios!

As a Malaysian, I fully agree with the need for the NEP. The government must do its best to eradicate poverty irrespective of race or religion. Due to the previous economic policies of our colonial master, the Malays forming the largest part of the population are the most disadvantaged. Help must reach those in need but Datuk Seri, but the NEP today is seen to favour the ruling elite.

Despite 30 years plus of NEP, many Malays are still lagging behind the Chinese and certain segments of the Indian community. How can this be happening? This is a question that all Malaysians regardless of race or religion ask themselves. Why is the appropriate help not reaching the correct segment of the population after all these years?

The opposition has highlighted this, especially the urban poor, where condominiums costing RM1 million or more are just a stone-throw away from their modest low-cost flats. Also, in rural areas, why are the small holders and fishermen still living on the brink of poverty? Why have they not received the correct help?

PakLAH, there is a big perception amongst certain segments of the Malay community that the NEP only benefits Umnoputeras and not bumiputeras. This has perception has also caused many Malay votes to swing to the Opposition parties.

Both the government and opposition should stop fueling racial sentiments in the wake of the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition's unprecedented election setback.

“The political landscape has shifted so much and it's a dangerous time for mischievous people and racists in this country to exploit,”

The Hindraf factor is the biggest reason for the decline in support for BN among the Indian community. The issue of temple demolishment was handled wrongly, and the apology from the Deputy Prime Minister is just not enough. First it must be acknowledged, that building of places of worship must be in accordance with the Law. However, certain buildings existed before the Law was created and time must be given to such temples to comply with the Law.

Even if time has expired, great sensitivity must be shown before such places of worship are demolished.
