Proton
manufactured car may not be a lot of people's choice
when consider
purchasing a vehicle, however be very surprise that
Proton as a company is
very well sought after by many companies, locally or
internationally.
The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC)
are confident
that Volkswagen AG's (VW) bid for a strategic
partnership with Proton is the
most competitive. You can read all about it in
The Star.

We have been blogging about this quite a bit, and we are
very sure that many
of you knows that we are very much in favor of a foreign
tie up, whether it
is GM, Peugeot or VW. Now we would like to hear from
you. Do tell your
fellow Malaysian, our leaders or anyone reading this,
with which company
proton should tie up with.

Definitely my choice would be GM. It is currently the biggest car maker in the world. Who else should Proton consider to work with? The Japanese is efficient, but American is more business centric and sometimes do has creative/innovative ideas. I believe this will definitely spur the economy growth in Malaysia.
Coming from multinational company, my hat goes to the American as they have one of the best working environment a company has to offer. Well as for the Japanese, again they are efficient, meaning it's work hard with no play. If your ever work in their company, you will know what i mean :)
Well, good luck to our fellow Proton employees if the tie-up would be successful, either way i do foresee a "JUMP" of improvement in term of product as well as service quality from Proton.

I PREFER IF PROTON COULD MERGE WITH PERODUA THE LOCAL COMPETITOR RATHER THAN WITH THE OVERSEAS CAR COMPANIES EVENTHOUGH THEY RE EXCELLENT. BARE IN MIND THOSE BRANDED COMPANIES ARE ALSO SELFISH IN TERMS OF SHARING THEIR TECHNOLOGY TO US.SO "IT IS BETTER AND CONVENIENT TO GROW RICE IN MALAYSIA RATHER THAN TO BUY FROM OTHER COUNTRY".

Either way, i think Proton is "toast". Malaysian has already started to resent the product of this company. The sales number of Proton cars is the actual fact/proof of this. If 20 years head-start is not enough for Proton, another 20 years would not make any difference.
