Step By Step Using Paint
To Resize Photo File
Our objective in these tips are to provide
users a step by step instruction on how to resize their
photo files to a smaller size files. Small file size
will give you faster upload and also faster photo
display at the search result, in other words, full
customer satisfaction. For this, we will be using Paint,
as it’s widely available and is already a built in photo
editing software in Windows.
Let’s start. Follow through the simple
steps below:
1) Start the Paint
application.
2) In the File Menu,
select Open to find and open the photo file that
you want to resize.

3) To check on the attribute
(file information) on the photo file, you can either:
a.
Go to Image menu,
and then select Attributes.
b.
Or press Ctrl + E.

4) From example below, the
Width and Height of the file are 2048 X 1536
pixels respectively. To get the best picture result on
Luk4all website, the desired width and height are 150 X
112 pixels. Note:
a.
All digital photos are in
4:3 ratios (4 and 3 refer to the width and height
respectively).
b.
Re-sizing the file to
smaller size, will directly shrink the file size as
well.

5) From Image menu,
select Stretch/Skew (or Ctrl + W)

6) Change the Horizontal
and Vertical stretch value to 10% from 100%.

7) As you can see, the photo
has been re-sized significantly.

8) To save, select File
menu and then Save.

9) To check on the file
height/width and size, repeat Step 3. For this
example, the file size has been reduced to ~11Kb (see
below). Note: Even though Width and Height is not 150 X
112 pixels, the photo display will still be perfect, as
long as the photo is maintained at 4:3 ratios.

That is it. Very simple, is it not? Well,
good luck.
